-If you're rooted and wanna save a little battery, download no frills CPU control from the play storean then open it up and set the minimum CPU frequency to the lowest setting (120 something). Then hit apply. This saves a decent amound of battery and no cost to performance. You'll have to do this everytime you boot because the set on boot option doesnt work

-Download System Cleanup (free) in the Play Store, open it, go to the "Apps section", scroll all the way down to DMService (it's near the bottom), long press it, click "Disable autoruns, and umcheck the checkmark in the "blah blah blah boot_completed" box. This app checks for updates and runs all the time. After you do this it won't run anymore

#2 didn't work for me, it didn't stick. stericson's "Permissions Denied" also had failed at that task a few days ago.

The app ran, changing the autostart permission didn't. On reboot it went back to normal.

Permissions Denied has an option to lock the permissions file. I'm still deciding whether to try that or not, if the phone goes apeshit over that file being locked and it bootloops I'm screwed... they won't give me another warranty phone a few days after receiving the first repalcement.
