Root QuickPic "Load Failed" deal..

Sorry if I should have stuck this in a different forum, move if need be.. That said, I've noticed at least recently with the install I have now that trying to use QuickPic as gallery of choice (from Backside 1-20 stock camera or stock clock/weather widget) that I get the load failed. I have a 16 GB card so that is my pics location. I have noted that if I actually take a picture (but not video), and tap to view it, QuickPic will be used if desired. I found this thread that seems to talk about this issue..

Anyway, clearing defaults in Applications did not solve it. And location of storage shouldn't be the problem as Gallery is loading my pics from the same place. If this has already been discussed and solved sorry I haven't found the thread yet, but if anyone is in my boat or has an idea please chime in:)

Backside, yeah I know I thought about that while I was out shoveling.
Edited...

Just tried uninstalling and reinstalling, same prob.

No. I'm going to recopy my pictures onto the card right now, I cleared the caches in the QuickPic app itself and it fubared my pictures folder. No big deal I'll live.

Apparently I'm alone with this QuickPic problem. Hmm... pebcap is an expression I saw here once, lol.

Quick Pic doesn't have a reputation for being unstable, so there must be some underlying cause. Perhaps one of your pictures is corrupted. I would try placing your sd card in a PC, just to see if all of the image files are okay. If possible, move your pictures to a PC, then delete them from your sd card. Then take a couple of pics, and try Quick Pic again.

I started copying pics back onto the card last night like I said in my last post.;)
Outside of the cache clearing snafu, QuickPic only failed when launching from camera or default clock widget, default Gallery would launch fine, QuickPic would launch fine as an app. But, maybe if I'm lucky all will work as expected when I finish, but no big deal if not and I have no problem completely wiping the system and starting over too. I'm seeing this as an opportunity to downsize the amount of pics I put on the card and have a little more room left, lemons into lemonade:)

It seems I may be the only one with this issue here but, thought I would just add that even after a complete wipe QuickPic still shows "load failed" when launched from (camera, press menu then gallery) UNLESS pictures were to be in sdcard/DCIM/camera (with no other folders). I normally keep my pictures in sdcard/pictures. Again QuickPic launches fine by itself and default Gallery will launch fine from camera given my pictures location. Not even sure anymore if or when the behavior was different:confused:
It's not a big issue at any rate and I did take the opportunity to trim an entire GB of pics stored on there.:)

I had a similar problem, I could open a picture from Astro, but from ES File Manager I always got "Load Failed", the solution was related to the path I followed. I have a Rezound (stock, rooted). If i navigated down /sdcard2/DCIM/100MEDIA and opened a .jpg, I would get "Load failed" but if I navigated down /mnt/sdcard/ext-sd/DCIM/100MEDIA and opened the same .jpg it launches QuickPic fine. With Astro it didn't matter, but with ES File Manager the path did matter, but I don't know why.

Thread back from the dead:D I actually comunicated by email back and forth with the dev about this problem back then and after changing paths several times still got nowhere. It really isn't a big deal.
