Help Qwerty to 3x4 keypad on galaxy europa

Hi guys was looking for some help, when I change my keypad on my galaxy europa from qwerty to 3x4 the phone still stays in qwerty mode, I only got this phone yesterday so has anyone got any ideas.

First be sure you have Android-version 2,2 go to settings then about the phone.

when you hold your phone the normal way -do you not get the 3x4 when you make an sms ???

if you turn (rotate) your phone then you have qwerty, right ??

hope you understand the meaning with my bad english.

Check again if it is definitely on 3.4 because sometimes it does not do what you want.
