Also, just FYI from someone with first hand knowledge... Virgin DOES NOT allow devices/handsets from other carriers... unlocked, flashed or not. I've tried many times. They are very thorough checking the origin of a phone you try to activate, and if it didn't come from Virgin, they don't allow it. I found out the hard way. They won't even take a Sprint device and they are owned by Sprint. That is THE reason I really left... to get a nice new, large screen phone the cheapest way possible, and that was only through a contract plan with a discounted handset. Some people have been lucky, or had the knowledge to "trick" Virgin into activating a different phone. I'm sure however they did it was either "illegal" by cloning or something, or they work for them or know someone who does... there is even a recent "press release" from Virgin online being linked to everywhere, saying as of July/2013 or something that they allow BYOD now. Its not true, I called them on that as well, emailed the rep the website, and she told me it wasn't true. It stinks, because in my opinion, that is the ONE THING that is keeping them from being the BEST carrier/provider (I. MY EYES).
Just hoping by telling you this I can save someone else and you from possibly making a very costly mistake that I've personally made, and spent a LOT of time pursuing...
