Help Radio 2.05 leak -> RUU = Froyo w/ no problems?

Alright, I updated to the radio 2.05 a few weeks back just using the regular update.zip, so I never had ROOT on the phone.

I'm trying to figure out what needs to be done to get my phone running Froyo with no issues.

I'm OK with going the RUU route and having a freshly wiped phone....but everything I've seen so far makes mention of having to downgrade my phone first....which requires ROOT, and makes it sound like it's going to be a LOT more work to get this thing running stock 2.2...

Anyone have any experience with this?

If the now released 2.2 OTA zip will work just fine and not brick the phone I'll gladly just install it manually like I did with the radio leak.

you don't have to root to downgrade but it does sound like its a pain.
i think the ruu method will work just fine for you and is probably your best bet.
the ota does not work as far as i know for 2.05 users.

ok yes you do need to root to downgrade.

i am pretty sure the ruu will work without downgrading but you will have to try it to see. nothing bad will happen.... either it will install or it won't.
