I keep reading comments about people updating this to different versions or something. My question is, what is it? And is it included in modacos release??
 
No its not included.

Its either firmware or software to update the broadcast chipset from what I can see. I updated to the latest version (stickied on modaco) the same way I flashed the rom (renaming the zip file to update.zip and installing at boot).

So far I have noticed battery life has been better and signal strength has improved.
 
I have just installed the latest radio update, and I agree that the signal appears to be better. I'm on a constant 4 bars whereas I was on 2-3 before. I haven't left this room since doing it, so I will be able to give a better assessment tomorrow. SO far so good though.
 
Is there a guide on this site or any other for everything? Rooting, Custom ROM and radio? Total noob here, for now...
 
Search for the noob and custom ROM thread probably on page 2 of this forum. Read it and all the replies. It helped me no end.
 
Definitely. I'm total noob too and I found it easy. Just do exactly what it says on the tin.
