Radios

Can you folks give some perspective on various Verizon phones re: radio quality?
I had to swap a new Galaxy Nexus last December for a Razr. Reason? Poor radio reception.
I know radios are all adequate for great reception areas. ( not my situation)
Any comments? I'm mostly interested in Motorola, Samsung, HTC.
Does radio quality vary among different models of the same vendors?
Jon

Samsung radios are notoriously poor compared to Motorola or HTC. The galaxy s3 is better than the nexus, but not by much.

I've always had good luck with both HTC and MOTO. Side by side the razr and rezound both perform well but I havent' really been in any fringe areas recently.

Come to SW Missouri. 'Fringe Area' has many meanings here!
Seriously, thanks for the feedback. I am so reluctant to try Samsung radios again. However I so want a galaxy note type phone. Hopefully HTC will come up with a 5 inch screen winner!

Samsung's radios are all pretty disappointing in fringe areas. In my experience the Rezound has the best radios. Of 6 coworkers with smartphones on Verizon, only the Rezound gets a 4G signal fairly reliably in our office. No go for the S3, Nexus, Thunderbolt, or Bionic... (Can't speak for the RAZR, no one has one).

My father has the Rezound. I'm not so much a fan of Sense but wow in the Speedtests I've ran on it, they run circles around my Nexus. A damn shame really. Its not even that I have connectivity issues, its just that it seems that the Rezound can push far more data much faster.

Oh well, the 4G is does get still does circles around 3G (shudder). I'm grateful for that.

Yeah, my 3G at my office is so overloaded, its just about worthless. They need to put up a new cell site to handle the extra traffic.
