So next week I will be getting the LG Volt (F90) and from what I see from unboxing/review videos when the phone boots up the led flashes a rainbow color.

I would like to know if it's possible at all to have that happen whenever I get a notification, and if so what app would I need to use?
 
Nope light flow won't do that. I once asked the Dev but it would cause serious battery drain. To change colour requires waking the CPU (wakelock).
Trust me no matter how cool it may look you'd probably keep it a few days and the dev would get a lot of bad reviews :thumbup:
 
Honestly, the Light Flow dev is a great guy. It sounds crazy as he has 100k-500k installs, but if you send an email he (not a machine or someone from "the team") gets back to you within minutes and will discuss your question or issue. I was having problems with the demo version a couple of years ago and over the course of an hour he helped me figure out that I was being a bonehead. I turned right around and bought the pro version even if I wouldn't use it. Just to show appreciation for the way he treated me.
 
Lol. When I tried some colors it came up as a rainbow in my Note 2. It would depend on the led hardware I'd think.
