RAM question

I have a question about Android RAM. Sense has done a lot of rebooting on me lately, and I want to understand why.
I have well over 70 applications on my phone

On my HTC Sensation I've this Sense-restarting issue too.

About 3 days after rebooting the phone there is a Sense-restarting.
And then I'll get it very often.

So my (poor) solution is to reboot the phone when I get a Sense-restart.
So I haven't a Sense-restart for the next 3 days ;)

And the update to Android 4.03/Sense 3.6 doesn't solve this problem, a week after the update the phone had a Sense-restart :(

Mine does not restart after closing Words with Friends or while using/closing other apps. However I have seen it restart after webbrowsing a forum where the long web page has like 20 to 50 medium-to large (but not ultra-large/full-scale) photos.

Mine does the same thing...I play words, hanging & scramble. Wish they made it so when u close these apps they would actually quit running.

even though this is talking about sense i moved this to android lounge so hopefully we can get some on target insights on how android handles RAM and its various apps

Well, this isn't by any means scientific or based on anything other than a hunch, but it might be because Android is unloading Sense like it does other apps when it needs more memory, except sense then goes heywire because it's not a real boot.

...like I said, just a theory.

IOWA probably hit the spot right on. I've had the same experience with Go and TW, where the launcher has to redraw after playing something resource intesive for my phone like Dead Space. But apart from waiting a couple of seconds for the launcher to redraw, it works as fast as usual.

The only fix I can see right now for you is to use a third party launcher with no restart issue, like Go Launcher.
