Use the Task Manager app that came with the phone. You won't be able to do much more than that unless you're willing to root the phone.

thanks, unfortunatley im not that good yet on this phone. give me a 2way radio and i can do wonders

if you root you can use autokiller from the market...but dont use it above moderate as it will decrease battery life
