Random Battery Issue

First off this phone is awesome. I think I finally found my phonemate. Anywho I notice that at night my battery drains as much as 10%. I've had it for about 2 weeks now but the first week it wouldn't drain more than 2%. I make sure to close out all apps and have all the tweaks for better battery. The wifi stays on but that wasn't an issue before. Not sure what I can do.

Thanks a ton for the help. I'm not too sure how to read the data on the apps mentioned so I've posted screenshots from the apps. Please let me know if more detail is needed by clicking on items to expand them.

Also could you please let me know which apps I don't need so I can uninstall or turn off? Again thanks for being so helpful.

It says your photos aren't public.

Also here is a list of apps you can freeze/turn off: Apps That Are Safe to Remove From 4.4.2 [NC2] - xda-developers

My apologies. That was the first time I ever used imagur. It should work now.

I'll definitely check the thread out. I'm assuming it shouldn't make a difference that I'm running 4.3 instead of kitkat.

I also have a random charging question. Is there a certain percentage I should let the battery drain before I recharge it? I usually let it drop to about 10% before I initiate charging it. Threads I saw were unclear as to this question.

Looks like Ebay and Calendar Storage are being pinged a lot. Are you actually on the Ebay application a lot? Otherwise you should disable background use. :)

And honestly, with the charging issue...You don't need to necessarily bring it down to a certain percentage each time. My device is usually only at about 50% when it goes on charger. Yes if you charge it when it's lower the battery when, supposedly, last longer, but I mean it's such a minimal difference that it doesn't really matter.

The thing that hurts the battery the most is when it gets super hot.

Hi again

Firstly, I would note that 0.6%/hour discharge in the screen shots you posted is pretty good! But if its sometimes worse, I would first disable (in settings, app manager, ALL tab) samsung push services (unless of course you use lots of samsung apps) since that will cut out a lot of wifi traffic.

If you reset the two apps and monitor them just overnight (rather than for 3 days) you will see what is running at night _ its hard to tell from 3 days' records.

I don't use ebay much at all just here and there. And as for Calendar Storage, not exactly sure what it is but all I need the Calendar is for looking at events I have planned out. How do I disable background use? Do I uninstall it or choose "turn off"?

My battery doesn't get quite hot although I did end up charging it last night and it did get hot just charging. It reached up to 100 F at one point when I checked it. I wasn't using it all all but just was checking the % it had charged.

As far as I know I don't use any Samsung apps like "WatchOn". The only stock apps I use are Dropbox, Android Device manager but don't think those are Samsung. I guess I can try what you said and see if it interferes with anything I'm using and if it does I could always turn it back on.

I'll restart the 2 apps before I sleep and post them tomorrow. Its funny because when I installed the 2 apps, its like my phone knew it was being monitored so it started behaving and not draining battery as fast haha. Thanks for your help.

You can disable background data by going to Settings > Application Manager > Pick an Application, the option should be in there.
