Help Random laggy text messaging app

Once in a while, the text messaging gets verryyyy slow. Scrolling through the messages and people, to the keyboard and opening and closing the app. Every other app works fine and the phone is lag free. I dont have that many text saved and seems like restarting the phone returns it back to normal, but id hate to restart it everytime it happens and it always sends old text messages when i restart my phone. Is there any solutions? any other text messesaging app that works well with the Mytouch4g?

Also, im using launcher pro. dont have that many apps either.

I would give GoSMS a try, it sounds to me like the Launcher Pro is conflicting with the stock messenger, even when the stock messenger is disabled in notifications you'll notice there are still messages that show up in there. I use GoSMSPro and I never have issues with it and it has some cool features, themes, wallpaper maker, ect.

My spouse and I have the same problem with our MyTouch 4g's. We both have < 30 apps and are not using LauncherPro. I thought it was a keyboard problem at first, but the keyboard works fine in my other apps. It's a shame because I like the Android Message app

even with goSMS I still have the problem with SMS once a while.. and my friends kept telling me that my phone sends them old msgs all the time...
I rooted my phone ... last week, so lets see if that helps clearing out any conflicts
