random notification

So I keep getting a random notification but nothing shows in the notification menu. The default ring tone plays every now and then and for the life of me I can't find out why. Anyone have the same thing happen to them?
 
I had this on my HTC and traced it back to a rogue app, Better Battery Stats, alerting me if the battery got too hot. If you don't have that app and don't have the repeat notification s turned on, it could be another app causing it?
 
You'd look after the app which causing this with the app 'Notification History'.

After set up for logging the app will log in back ground all app and system notifications.
Because you'll get a lot information, you'd open the app shortly after your strange notification occurs for to see the last events on the log.
