Random Reboot figured out (for me)

So I figured out why my particular DX2 reboots randomly. Whenever any of my applications has an update available, my phone will reboot. Not when I have updated, just when an update is available. The next time your phone reboots randomly, once it starts back up go to Market and check your apps to see if anything needs updating.

Per Verizon this isn't supposed to happen (duh), so I just did a factory reset. I'll update if it keeps happening.

RRs happened to me all kinds of ways:

Playing Flash

Browsing

While downloading apps

Doing nothing but it being charged

I think part of the issue is how the system sdcard is mapped. My theory is that Froyo and some apps do not handle the mapping well and this causes absolute system failure.

If it does have to do with the SD card that would make sense. I moved all my apps to internal memory and have not had any RRs.

Hi there. I have had the DX2 for a little shy of a month now and I would say that the phone has RR about 10-15 times. I have not found a common thread between these occurrences as sometimes it does it at night while charging (awoken to the wonderful DROID voice), at times randomly while in my pocket.

Although I haven't seen the message about updates being available after every time this occurs, has anyone figured out a way to toggle something off on a setting menu within the market (specific to updates) to avoid this happening?

Thanks.
