Help Random Rebooting

I have a significant problem of my phone rebooting randomly. The details are as follows
  • I have tried it on 3 phones that are configured identically: a Sony Xperia Z3, a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, a HTC One M9. They all show the same issue
  • The problem occurred when all were running Android 5.0.x and now are all updated to Android 5.1.1 and the problem still occurs.
  • All 3 phone running Nova Launcher with the same configuration and the same ~400 apps (give or take the ones that are manufacturer specific).
  • The problem is this:
    • My phone seems to randomly reboot. I cannot correlate this with anything I am doing on the phone. It just suddenly seems to happen. It will run fine for a couple of days, and then suddenly reboots. Sometimes it occurs when I am doing something on the phone, and sometimes it occurs when I am not touching the phone.
    • All 3 phones exhibit similar behaviour but not identical.
    • After the phone reboots, it then starts to repeat the reboot it with shorter and shorter intervals.
    • The only thing I have found that reliably clears the frequent rebooting (for a while), is to reboot the phone into Safe Mode and then reboot it again into normal mode (I don’t do anything in Safe Mode – I just let it load and then do a normal restart).
    • I thought Safe Mode simply prevented your downloaded apps from running, but in fact I have found that after I restart the phone when it was previously booted into Safe Mode, some of my apps (not all) seem to have had their settings cleared. In particular, I have found my email app, Nine Folders, has had its settings cleared and I have to set it up again. I have also found that OneNote has had its settings cleared.
    • I am also experiencing rapid battery drain at times, but GSAM does not show any app that is consuming excessive power.
  • •I have tried:
    • Google: I could not find anything that described my exact symptoms, but the remedies either are (a) factory reset (which I have tried but does not solve the problem), or (b) uninstalling apps which with 400 apps and sometimes days passing between random reboots is totally impractical!
  • Alogrec: This is an app which is supposed to record the logs (aLogCat) continuously. I thought it may show me what was running when the phone rebooted. However, it does not record anything. I suspect it only works on rooted phones (although it does not say that on the Google Play store). I don’t want to root the phones.
So my questions to you are:
  1. Is there any way in which I could log data to try and pin down what is happening when a random reboot occurs (without rooting the phone or leaving it running on a PC running adb)?
  2. 2.Any other suggestions?
I would really appreciate your help.
