Help Random reboots?

Anyone else have this happen? It's bee a couple times a day ever since I got the phone... not normally an issue, since I love the phone, but now it seems to be happening more often...

Anyone?

Yes. Tried to clear all apps and do a battery pull to fix. Didnt work. VZW wanted me to try a factory reset, but I live outside their area (am always roaming while at home) so this wasn't an option for me. I would suggest you try it (after backing up all your data) and if that doesn't fix it, swap it out, or change devices. I had a few issues with my Dinc2, so I ended up returning it and opting for a thunderbolt.

Quite a few have seen this, as have I. Only happened once during the night so far. Not a major nuisance - yet. You can see what others have been saying here.

This happened to me a week ago. The phone just rebooted while I was typing a text message. Then it did it again 10 minutes later. Hasn't happened again since though, odd.

Never. It did happen on the thunderbolt I had before this though. Even that wasn't very often. Seems like it used to occur on the DINC1 too.

This has happened to me at least once - but while the phone was charging and I wasn't using it. I noticed because I had just gone to bed, and I saw the light from the phone's screen light up the ceiling when it rebooted.

Just got a random reboot during the middle of the night while the phone was on the charger. I just put in a new battery yesterday. A Seidio 1750mAh. No reboots have happened today, I'll keep an eye on it. Seems kind of weird, but as long as it doesn't happen when I'm using the phone, it probably isn't a big deal. Maybe it's something HTC/Verizon will fix in the Gingerbread update that will hopefully be out sometime soon.

The exact thing happened to me..down to the light waking me up haha.

I thought I had the problem licked... did a factory reset last week and everything... and today, just after I'd sent a text message... BAM. Rebooted. :(

Return/exchange the phone. I had the same problem, tried all the suggestions, but nothing eliminated the problem. It apparently is not restricted to Dinc2 or Andriod even. I read a thread in another forum for Blackberrys - same problem.

I believe it's just the luck of the draw - either you got a good one or a bad one. There doesn't appear to be anything the user can do about it.

I exchanged my phone at Verizon - no questions asked. Although, the clerk said, "I've never heard of this before - on this phone?" None the less they exchanged the phone without even asking the techs to look at it.

I've had it happen (random reboots) on numerous android devices. First the Dinc, then the DX. And recently on a Fascinate. Apparently it's some weird, stupid behavior that is mostly prevalent on android devices. Not that it doesn't occur on other devices, but I've only experienced it on the android os.

I've had multiple exchanges for multiple devices and it still happens. Sometimes you may not even know it's happening unless you see it or feel the phone vibrate when it's restarting.

I had the occasional random reboot on my DInc before; but since Gingerbread it's practically an everyday occurrence, and usually about six or seven times in a row once it starts. It's sitting here by my computer as I type this and it's rebooted four times without anyone or anything touching it. Ridiculous. Anyone know how to stop this crazy thing? And PLEASE don't suggest a hard reset. Lost most of everything I had when a techdroid at my local VZW invoked the nuclear option because my phone's clock was reading four hours into the future.

I have a problem where Sense crashes when I'm exiting an app and returning to the Home screen, but it's not a full reboot. I just get a white screen with the HTC logo, and then the icons load. The whole process takes less than 10 seconds.

The problem began after the Gingerbread upgrade. At at one point it would happen about 25% of the time when I was returning to the Home screen. HTC Support couldn't offer any solution outside of telling me to not use a task killer (which I don't, anyway).

Funny thing is - the problem kind of went away on its own. It stopped happening regularly about a month ago without me uninstalling anything or making any changes to my device. It still happens every once in a while - maybe once every two of three days.

I've had that happen both before and after getting Gingerbread, in addition to the aforementioned problem of complete and total reboots since Gingerbread (I'm really getting tired of hearing the phone suddenly say "DROID!!").

It's a Sense flaw with Gingerbread, as I understand it. It did the same thing on my Evo Shift when I had it. VERY frustrating.

Something you can do should the problem become too irritating for you is install a home replacement such as GO Launcher or LauncherPro (I prefer the latter). It stopped that pesky bug.

Thanks. I considered trying that, but it never did get too irritating. It's very strange how it will not happen for a week, and then happen often for a day or two for no apparent reason, and then stop again. I would say that in the last month, it's happened about once a day on average. Since it only holds up the device for less than 10 seconds, I can live with that.

I am leaving my DROID x because of random reboots amongst all the other problems but I couldn't handle the constant reboots- all the time with the reboots
Super independable

Also- I noticed that on my dx it got worse after installing gingerbread
Im not rooted or anything
Totally stock

I can't listen to music
Can't talk
Can't surf web
Can't take video orthe pictures etc etc
With out experiencing reboots
