Help Random shutdowns, anyone else?

Hey guys,
Starting down the road to figuring out a problem, and trying to decide if it's my phone, my ROM, or an installed app... Finding out if anyone else has the problem would be a great start.

So once about every day and a half, I go to pick up my Inc, and it is off. Nothing happened to shut it off, I used it for something, whether to just look at the screen for weather and time, to check an email, use the browser or make a call. When I set the phone down, it's working, and when I pick it up again, it is off, and I have to start it up. It's not frozen, it doesn't take a battery pull, it just takes the long press that it takes to power on the phone, and it boots right up. I never have any idea how long it's been, or when it happened.

There are no error messages on startup, nothing to indicate that anything abnormal happened, except the fact that I had to restart my phone. The first step if this were a computer is to look at system logs, is there a log viewer on Android that is similar to eventvwr in Windows? If so, any idea on how I find these logs?

This issue averages every 1 1/2 or so days, as I said, but it can happen 3 times in one day, which gets problematic when it is a work phone, and I'm supposed to be available for support...

Anyway, if anyone has any ideas, or a similar issue, it would be greatly appreciated.

I am using an Incredible, running CyanogenMod 7.1.0 and GoLauncher Ex

Wow, I didn't even think 'battery'. Since this is an extended life battery, I actually have the original to switch back to as a test. Thanks for the idea. I'll try for a week or so and see what I get.
