Root Razr developers

Biotic

Android Expert
Are their any developers here who own a razr? Id like to get a group together and make a rom from the stock firmware from phandroid.
I started working months back but decided it was to much work for myself at the time.

If your enterested in a modified stock rom to be developed, press the thanks button.
(to get a rough idea of community thoughts)

Out of curiosity, what kind of changes are you looking at making?

Truth be told, I'm VERY happy stock and rooted (with ad-free). While another ROM would be great, I cannot say if I would ever flash it. The exception is a stock ROM where the camera .apk has an option to use a physical key to take the photo... I'd flash that (or at least the modified camera .apk in a heartbeat.

Ahh, I forgot you had a RAZR, buddy.

I don't plan to have mine long, but let me know if/when you want some help. ;)

I had an idea of porting some features from the atrix hd. (launcher, weather, circles, theme, ect) (already have the atrix hd launcher on my razr with circles widget, looks and handles good) improve battery life and speed. Improve blur as it should be (bring back the original gingerbread blur?)
"original tools" adblocker, cpu controller, memory controller?
Add a more droid feeling than it is? (already rebuilt droid x live wallpaper for 3.0+ xhdpi devices)

This is what it has come down to. All i see in the custom roms are allll the same source or unstable. We need more stable roms than experimental. Once we establish a stable custom base. (port sense or other fun stuff?)

The droid bionic already got cm10 and yet where still under the stone.
So, my thinking... Instead of rom after rom of bugs. Stick to something that works, get a group together, build something that works.

Gothcha i dont like just showen up in a community and be like "hey yall, check this out"

Hmm they do have alot of support over their, guess il have todo something to out do them

Id probably go with miui if it was stable but its not stable yet.
So il have to build something that works every direction.

Had cm10 up and running on my razr tonight. No data connection was made during the trial run. Completely smooth and reliable. More testing needs done.

I found different results in the cm10 build today. Whether the user was on . 210 or . 211, ect. The device recieved different results. Im going to build on a stock build and see the results of that. Hopefully bring stabiler results

I've heard lots of data issues with CM10 at the moment but the kexec kernel should relieve all that once it is released.

Yes they should

Il be building off of the 211 ics build for a rom soon. There are a few things im ready to take head on that will b tricky to acomplish

I did the math
Doesn't matter what build I make a base out of after I'm done with it. Lol
If I do see a difference, something to make a update out of.

Testers should see a test build by end of the week.

Those interested in a soak test for my upcoming rom, please leave a shout out in the bionx forums. (Link in my sig)

Tonight the Droid Razr Nx rom open beta will be available tonight in the bionx custom rom forums.
It is highly suggested that only experienced flashers and people who are interested in helping the custom rom community in finding bugs and giving suggestions flash.

In order to be in the beta, the following must be met...
Droid razr running ics (it hasnt been determined yet on if a certain build is required)
Rooted
Boot strap 2.1 installed (safe system enabled and backups were made before flash)
And the understanding that you are responsible for any damage done to your razr if any damage were to accur. My droid razr is an active device so my work is reflected on my daily use and community feedback.

The announcment of an active link will be made at the time of release. Further details will reside than.

Untill than, have a good afternoon.
