Razr firmware update

I finally got the OTA today (GSM Razr in Germany); went from 653.73.17.Retail.en.EU to 653.73.30.en.EU. My main issues before the update were occasional force closes (especially com.android.phone at boot) and subpar camera image quality. I'll report back on what's really changed.

I got my phone 3 days ago and I believe I'm still on the older version. Do ya'll recommend I hold off on looking for a System Update?

I installed the update just a couple of hours after I got the phone, so I can't say if it's better or worse. I can say that it works just fine for me.

Did the delete cache partition and now my RAZR runs smoothly. After the update it got a little laggy not much but a little. Powering off the phone fixed the lag but after a couple of hours it would come back. Its been a couple of days so ill see if it working or not.

Be great to hear back from you! So that's the update now being rolled out to European Razr owners is it?

I don't know if I am just lucky or what, but I have had zero problems with my razr since the update. Still running flawlessly.

Wow, I wish I could empathize with those of you who have been having issues post-OTA. I updated and the phone hasn't missed a beat. In fact, I believe my battery life actually improved post-OTA.

No force closes, lag, etc.. weird huh?

I think the bulk off problems people had were more to do with VZW's major network issues. Since the network had been stabler, I've had pretty good battery life too.

I just read some of you guys installed it while rooted and it broke root so the update should work, mine just says the Software update failed! every time

I have a rooted Droid Razr and when I try to install the Software update it fails everytime. Do you know why? Is it because my phone is rooted that it fails everytime?

After you rooted your phone did you delete or freeze any bloatware?

Frequently firmware updates will go out and look for specific files on the phone before proceeding with updates.

Can't delete cache partition after the update. I get to the first screen, then the down volume button will not allow me to scroll down to Recovery. Then the phone just reboots itself after about 10 seconds (even though I didn't press the up volume button).

Any thoughts?
