Help RAZR goes silent when answering calls

Hi,
I actually have a razr maxx, but I figured since the software is the same so more people will see this post here.

I am having a problem with the phone when I get an incoming phone call, and I try to answer it the phone goes silent. I can't hear the other person, nor can the other person hear me, just dead silence even though call has been answered.

If I restart the phone, then phonecalls work fine, but this is not a good long term solution.

Is anyone else having the same problem? I have 1 more week before I can return the phone. I love everything else about the phone. I've gone a solid 2 days with heavy use without having to charge the battery. Problem is that this is a phone, and if I can't receive phone calls what's the point.

Return it. Obviously that's not supposed to happen.

Well the phone worked fine all weekend. So this leads me to believe it has something to do with my smart actions. I have the phone set to turn silent when I get to work during work hours. The phone shuts off wifi, and gps and silences the ringer. I am going to try silencing the ringer only and see if that helps. I also shut off the GPS trigger to recognize when I get to work. Not sure why it's related, but it's the only thing that's different from the weekends.

It worked for a day and the problem came back 2 days later.

I talked to a VZW rep and he told me that having my old device on, even though it is no longer activated could be causing the problem. So I turned off the old phone and will see what happens.

Hopefully, that's the issue.
