Help Razr MAXX - creating folders

Lurker
Is it possible to create folders to organize apps (like on the iTouch)? For instance, there are apps I don't really use but I don't want to (or can't) delete them. It'd be nice to have these out of the way but accessible in a folder. .

Your comments lead me to think you are looking at two different concerns.

1) you can put things into folders from your home screens. If you have a category of apps that you may use occasionally but don't want to go digging in the app "drawer" then you can put them in a folder. Long press on a home screen. Choose the third option down, Folders. It will create a folder that you can then choose apps to drag and drop into it. You can also name the folder by long pressing on the word folder and choosing a new title.

2)If you are really talking about hiding apps you don't want to use that often, you could possibly just delete them from your home screen and let them live in the app drawer. And a step further you can "freeze" them in the app drawer so you don't see them. I haven't taken this step and will likely not bother unless the app list becomes overburdened and the original bloatware is bothering me.

HTH!

Thanks! I wasn't originally thinking about making folders on the home screen but just did and that's very helpful. Moving apps to it was easy enough, but for some reason long pressing on the folder just brings up that whole screen; it's not allowing me to change the name, so I must be doing something wrong there.

I was mainly thinking of the second question - hiding some of the apps in the app drawer because it would be cleaner to just show the ones I actually use, or at least be able to re-organize the list. Anyway, I just hid some of them, so that'll do for now (some can't be hidden, but, oh well...)

After you click on the folder...the entire folder will pop-up. Then touch the word "folder" in the black title bar....the entire bar will turn blue and then a window will pop up to change the name.
