Razr Maxx

The only thing I can see that appeals to me would be the larger, 4.5" display. That being said, we KNOW what we have with the current RAZR - a really nice phone, best android phone out IMO. At this point, most of the real launch issues with the RAZR have been found. We really don't know that with the MAXX version. We also don't "know" that this phone would be better with ICS necessarily. Maybe it will have other, worse, issues because of ICS? Bottom line, what the RAZR is now should suffice for quite a while.

PURE SPECULATION:

Been following the GNex discussions - ICS seems to be generally seen as a positive. As usual, there are the usual detractors. Seems like the biggest negative is the plasticy feel. I've had a Samsung before - it held up - but had a cheap feel.

To me (i'll be 58 next week), the "sweet spot for screen size is getting bigger, So, for me at least, another plus.

Now, here's the speculation - what if this is the next official (or de facto) "Nexus"? I'm thinking that with Google buying Moto - this COULD happen.

My "official upgrade" is in May 2012 - will be watching this VERY closely.

The next Nexus will be in fall 2012. The Maxx will be old news by then.

Like I said - it was pure speculation. I'm guessing that you're correct. I'm due for an upgrade, and already itching - not sure I want to wait any longer than I have to.

Yep, I think late summer/early fall:

Quad core to keep up with a 720p samoled display (or Hitachi IPS by then)

28nm radio

32gb internal

Less wide

Hot swap card slot (better at least HAVE a card slot)

This will indeed be the Nexus that we all want.

After seeing how the Nexus and Rezound handle some content, I have talked myself out of a 720p display until a quad core is available.

Both devices have a little shudder to them and game emulators are near unplayable on both. Virtual pads seem to not get along well with these displays and games run slower on both devices.

Seems obvious to me that current chipsets are not ready for 720p and devs have not caught up with it either (on small displays due to dense pixels). Razr will do until the Tegra 3 hits a Moto device (you know it will).

STILL.... if the Droid 4 has the same display tech as the Razr, I might consider it, since same internals and Webtop. I am a convert for Webtop now, after using the Atrix lapdock more. The combo of the lapdock and Razr rocks. A quadcore with the lapdock will be super fine :)

I will 100% check out the Maxx...

However Moto has been on a major roll with just pushing out phones, one right after another with no regard for those that just purchased they're newest Flag Ship!

Its technology.. can't keep up! And like I said, I will deff give it a look..

But I will say this... Moto better get with the times and put a kick ass camera in there.. Otherwise they can keep it!
