Razr upgrade, yes or no?

Had both and traded the bionic in for the razr. Was having multiple problems close to yours. The razr is by far the best phone I've ever owned, and I'm not one to keep a phone.much longer than a few months or until the next best thing comes out, and put it this way. I haven't even bother to go LOOK at the nexus cause I'm so thrilled with this phone. Razr > everything

They told me they don't have "certified pre owned" SGNs which is why they couldnt do it. They said they cant send me a new device because I am not sending them a "new device" back. You guys seem to love the Razr so I feel pretty good about it. I just feel like I lost the fight with VZW.

I feel the EXACT same way... I came from a Droid Charge, absolute worst phone I've ever used. In fact, what's worse is that Verizon conned me into trying to help them and basically stuck me with the phone. I was going to return it (had already exchanged 1) within the stupid 14 days and they told me an update was coming really soon to fix the issues. Well... 6 months later, 3-4 calls a month... I was allowed to buy a new phone for contract price.
I'm not happy with Verizon in general for their BS on refurbs and CLN, etc... If you buy a brand new phone that didnt work, they should be obligated to give you a brand new phone that DOES work. (I've also got a long history with having to send in a refurb phone about every month due to their lack of QC).


Anyways, I digress... The RAZR is a good phone. Having dealt with the Charge, I'm pretty sure I'd have been happy with a Bionic, lol... But it wont exhibit the same problems. Everyone is hung up on the Gnex, and it's only real selling point is ICS and the updates direct from Google. However... That also causes more issues because what happens if/when it messes an with an update? Verizon is going to blame Samsung (their scapegoat in all situations), Samsung will blame Verizon and Google, and you wont be able to get ahold of Google. And even if it was just straight from Samsung, they are the absolute worst when it comes to customer service. Ughh...

My biggest reason to like Motorola... They can make a device that will allow you to talk to people over distances. At that function, it works perfectly. That function, was something that the DC could NOT do, and really, quite a few Samsung phones arent really good at that primary function.
 
Got the razr. Zero issues so far. Only hardware complaint and its minor.....the power button location and the volume buttons. So minor but thats it so far

Coming from the Bionic, I know itll be an upgrade but this is pretty much the last thing VZW is going to do to satisfy this customer. If this phone craps out, im pretty much stuck with it for the life of my contract. Is there anything you guys can tell me to help make this decision easier?

Basically they said they can offer me any device but the Nexus. I really feel like if I pressed hard enough I could get that device, given I have a moto device now that has absolutely ruined their reputation with me. I told him I did NOT want another moto device but I understand its supposed to be a better phone.

What do you guys think?

i was in the same situation as you. my bionic was laden with a laundry list of probs. i got the galaxy nexus instead. the specs are just better all around and no skins (if you like that sort of thing). i do like the build quality of the razr more than the GN, but that wasn't a deal killer for me.

however, if you like the razr, it doesn't seem to have all the issues that the bionic does. i think the bionic is moto's redheaded stepchild that it ignores.
