RC29 Update!?

yeah hard to tell what has been updated unless there is a blog that specifically states what is changed from RC19 to RC29?

the phone does seem to retain longer battery power. I charged my phone 100% this morning and it still shows all green color all the way to the left even having GPS turned on

a longer battery life alone is enough to make me want this update already!!

BTW - as you can see from this thread, in the case of this update you aren't missing much of anything. No one seems to be able to determine what has actually changed for the user. It is likely under the hood items.

well the one thing i've been hearing from people who have gotten the update say that they immediately notice better battery life span, which i'm highly interested in.

Happy Hallowen Everyone! I have not gotten mine as of yet, and my phone was ordered the first day it was available. Maybe tonight when I go Trick or treating with my kids someone will throw and update in the bag. lol!

it's times like this I liken to think of the Bit Torrent method of data distribution would be incredibly useful in a legal way of getting lots of data to lots of people. Everyone seems to be really helpful here and I'm sure they'd keep their torrents open to help get the data moved along to others.

That would rule. Everyone would have theirs in like 2 minutes. (gigantic exaguration, but still, you see my point.)

i agree, especially if google can find a way to make sure it stays secure and nobody tries to seed some modified version.. i guess thats why they havn't done it, because they need to make sure people get the full size.. if only though.. i know google can do it..

I just found a bug with that flip orientation...if your phone sleeps in that mode then it won't re-orient itself so when you hit menu to get your unlock pattern it is sideways. Usable but sideways.

I don't think that's a bug. Same thing happens if your phone goes to sleep with the keyboard open.

Well if you get tired of waiting for it, just do it yourself. :)

Seems like the phone is snappier, menus with lots of icones scroll slightly smoother, seems a little more stable overall.

Just in case no one here has seen it...

Not bad for a first post if people here don't know about it! Very easy to do, takes less then 10 minutes from start to finish.

I'm in North Jersey too and I aint got nothin'.

T-mobile must hate me. I hear this new role-out RC29 could take till Nov. 11th now. I just may install manually.

I got mine this morning, so yes, they are still sending out the updates.

Don't kill yourself waiting for the update, it's nothing special. You'll get it.

It's funny, this is the first time I have ever heard anyone complain about NOT getting an update. People are usually frustrated that they're being bugged about updates.

i've noticed since i've gotten the upgrade, my PCs won't open any files. I can plug it in to charge, but that's it 0_o

frustrating

*edit* i figured it out

Sidekick FORUM users were always this way too. Eager and excited for new little fixes and upset they couldn't get the update instantly. We are superfans, so we care more. We are a tiny segment of the overall userbase, and it would be nice if Tmobile catered to us...but alas they don't.

Got Mine Yesterday morning. Noticed it gives you a notification now when you plug the phone into your computer and asks you if you want to access the SD card, unlike before where you had to go into the settings and select to use the SD card.

got mine saturday. atlanta area. man... the battery life is awesome now! i had mine off the charger for 12 hours, and still had 50% battery life. only used it for the basic stuff... taking a few calls.... sending some texts, checking out and installing a few apps for a while. no heavy video/music/gps stuff. before the update this usage would have had me @ or below 20%. great update!
