Help Re-installing Android 2.1 on a LG GT540

I have SwiftDroid 2.0 'ASIS' installed on my LG GT540, and i've been trying to re-install Android 2.1 for a while now for things like the LG menu theme, and because of random glitches in SwiftDroid, but every time i've tried to re-install 2.1, my phone has went into a boot loop and the only way to fix it was to re-install SwiftDroid, i've tried to re-install 2.1 a few more times but the only instructions i've been able to find are ones that are too complicated for me to follow without messing everything up, is there anything else i can try?, i really wish i hadn't put SwiftDroid on my phone in the first place.

what method did u use to go back to 2.1??
And what kind of bootloop?? FOR e.g stuck on LG or ANDROID logo!

You have to clear your data, that's why it's boot looping. Get into fastboot mode, then use the command

fastboot -w

then install the original 2.1.
