Help Re-Installing Android Market

Hello,

I'm a newbie...and not very technical so Plz go easy and dumb it down for me...if there's a sol'n


I purchsed a used G1 that doesnt' have the Android Market installed on it. I think this phone was already hacked becasue the layout is different than the G1s and there are some odd pre-installed app on it already.

AnyWoo...is there a way I can download the Android Market and be happy?

Can I upgrade the firmware and get the market and other apps that shoudl be preinstalled?

Any tips, suggestions, links would be much appreciated?

Flash a ROM on it, like Cyanogen.
