Reactivated my rooted Awe

Bought a Vibe back on Black Friday. Just couldn't deal with it and returned it. I was under the impression that a rooted phone couldn't be reactivated without unrooting it,so instead of reactivating my Awe i went back to my Kyocera Event. The limitations of the Event just finally got to be unbearable so I tried reactivating my Awe.
To my surprise what I thought was impossible actually worked! Sooooo was I mistaken that you can't activate a rooted phone? Could it be the fact that I'm on the $20 no data plan that made reactivation possible? No data=No way for VM/Sprint to check for root?
Confused but very happy to have my Awe back in action.

↑ This. I think it used to be an issue, but probably only applies to older phones, which more or less simply dont exist anymore. It is possible someone could have an issue with the initial activation if it has a custom recovery flashed to it beforehand, but even this I feel is unlikely. Pretty sure root never matters though, as its the same thing as having Administrator privileges on a windows pc. Just a different name, because, well, linux.

Thanx for the replies folks and yes, it has been years since I thought(?) I had read that activating a rooted phone was an issue. Like Froyo days. Glad it is no longer a problem.
