Apps Read Data from headset jack

Hi!
I have bought a credit card reader for my nexus one, like Square use. This is a device that plugs into headset jack and you swipe the credit card for this or any card with magnetic striper.
I wanna know if there is a way to read the information it sent by headset jack?

This is some new for me but I need this device to read identification ID.
Tthere is any API that can be connected to headeset jack ?

Any ideas?

Thks

looking at MediaRecorder.AudioSource, it doesn't seem to be possible in software... which makes a certain amount of sense, but it should be possible by modifying the plug on your scanner so that it appears to Android as a headset: but I'm not sure if there are adapters available that can split a headset plug (it looks like the normal headphone plug, but has more rings) into separate in/out connectors.

I have a card reader that plugs into this headphone jack, like Square for accepting credit card. I wanna know if there is any way to read the data or exist any API to read this.

I have to admit, your answers are pretty irritating since they seem to ignore my answers entirely and repeat questions that have already been answered. If my answers don't have the response you want, then what do you want?

I've bought a card reader as well - from China. Aparently they charge some money for SDK. Or its up to you to figure out how to read device.

But you have the SDK ? The device that I bought didnt have SDK so I couldnt use never.

Can you show me the device? Yes, maybe you have to figure out works.
