Read only google account

Eugene

I'm letting my kids use my old droid to play some games on but found that its a pain to get and install apps without a google account. I didn't want to sign in with my account so they can't accidently buy anything or delete my calendar or e-mails. Any idea how to set up a simple google account that could read only those items.

I have setup another account but wanted to see if I could lock it down some more, no accidental installs or sending e-mails.

Eugene, I would suggest you use an app lock app that will password protect apps you don't want other people (your kids to use). I created a thread that compared/discuss some of app lock type apps and you can check it out.

Why not just create a new account that has no credit card info on it?
Eugene might be like me and have already invested sufficient $$$ on education and game apps for the kids on his current account.
