read/write to usb hard drive

I have a nexus 7 and have all the right stuff to get the sd card work as far as read/write, but when I hook up a usb disk drive I only get read access. I am using stickmount and paragon ntfs. I have up graded to 4.2.2 and all else works fine. I did notice that paragon says it does not work yet with 4.2.2, Is there any work around to get write acess to the dard drive?

Have you rooted? You can't write to external drives without root.

That was the first thing I did when I got it. I have full read/write to my USB SD card but only read to my 500 gig USB disk drive.

Your USB disk drive might be formated NTFS.

With StickMount on the latest Android versions, ntfs is supported in read-only mode.

True, but thought paragon would read NTFS. But I think it is not comparable with 4.2.2. I was hoping there was a work around.
