Ready to buy but can't make up my mind.

I'm so ready to buy the Moto X Pure Edition. But can't make my mind up. My only concerns are:
First, battery life. My note 4 still needs charging around 6pm after normal usage during the day.
Second, battery heating issues. Been reading alot of users having heat issues.
And third, camera. Been reading mixed reviews. Some say great some say so so.

I moved from a Note 4 to the Moto X Pure Edition. Subjectively, battery life is about the same as the Note 4, but MXPE charging is faster. I have had no issues with overheating. I haven't used the camera a great deal but it seems to be on a par with the Note 4 and DxOMark rates the MXPE camera No. 6, just behind the Note 4. Overall, I am happier with the MXPE than I was with the Note 4.

The only thing I miss about the Note 4 is the S-pen functionality... but I've gotten over it. No regrets on the MXPE. The camera on this phone is ranked high, and I am quite pleased with it.

My problem with the S-pen was that I usually forgot I had it when I might have used it.

I moved from a Note 4 as well... and I'm glad I did. Don't get me wrong, I loved my Note 4. It's a great phone with a great camera and a beautiful screen, however I really wanted to try "vanilla" Android. The Note had a lot of extra features that I just never really used. I did use the S-Pen some and enjoyed it's functionality quite a bit, but it wasn't anything that I couldn't live without by moving to the Moto X Pure. The Note 4 camera may be a bit better overall and the screen, I hate to say, is a bit better, however it's not so much that it made me regret my decision. The Moto X Pure's battery is better for me than the Note. I'm not sure why that is either considering the size difference and everyone saying how great their battery life was with the Note. I don't know if it's my coverage area or what? Either way, I can easily get a full day out of the MXPE. It runs so much smoother too. I can't believe how "light" it feels. The Note stuttered and hung up and generally felt slow the more I used it not to mention the updates to correct any problems running on a carrier version (ATT) are laughable. That was probably my main reason for moving to the Motorola was the somewhat timely updates. Also, the only time I've noticed the phone getting a bit warm was when I was setting it up and getting everything moved over. Granted I don't play games or anything so that might affect it as well. Good luck with your decision though. Let us know how it goes.

Yep ordered mine a few days ago also, wife will get my 2014 Edition.

IMO this is the best multimedia / phone device created to date. Everything from build, smoothness, stereo speakers, display, Moto radio design, micro sd slot and $500 price for the 64GB model is very nice combination.

I do though wish that manufacturers would go back to replaceable batteries, but I honestly think there is "collusion" in the industry to "force" an earlier retirement curve for devices overall for higher tier devices. A lot easier to force folks to upgrade if the battery dies and replacements are either expensive or force you to send a device off for repair with personal data on it.

My background is computer electronics and manufacturing. I do not buy the "lower cost to make them" premise at all. It's a conspiracy I tell ya!!!!! :) ;) ;) :)

If you don't mind me asking, because of your background,
I have had Motorola phones before switching to Samsung for a bit and loved how the battery would last literally all day with average to heavy use. No other phone would come close. So these phablets now being much bigger in size, how in the world can you not make a battery over 4000 mAh.
The droid turbo is a 5.2 inch phone housing a 3900 mAh battery for crying out loud. It seems like the technology for batteries has gone back instead of forward.
Surely they can put a 3900 mAh battery in the MXPE. It's only common sense, bigger phone, bigger and better long lasting battery. I don't get it.
