Hi guys i hear your the best in what you do,

i have the htc desire hd, its froze at the htc logo screen, bootloader is locked, but i have the unlock.bin file, dont know how to get it on the phone, as i cant get past htc logo white screen,

all help is greatly appreciated please,:o

i also wiped the phone too, so has no ruu on it, silly i know:(, but i do have spare android phone if that helps??

Please let us know what you have already done to the phone before posting here. Looks like you were/are in the middle of rooting it....

i did vol down and power button, then booted to recovery, then held both volume buttons and power button and wiped it, so now it has RUU at all

That's not how it works....a factory reset doesn't wipe the ROM. It only wipes data.

Download a custom ROM and flash in recovery. Should fix what ails ya.

wouldnt i need to root it first to be abdle to install a custom rom? i have no done my sd card to a gold card will that make any difference?

So you were trying to root, then. That's what I previously asked. Where did the process break?

And why didn't you use the HTC dev portal? Many root methods are obsolete due to HTC allowing devices to be rooted through them.

i did use the htcdev it unlocked bootloader, then i relocked it, and ROM i used didnt install and thats when the phone, went to being stuck on htc logo screen

ive managed to get a rom on my htc desire hd, not the latest so how do i go about getting better rom, i would like the ics blackout rom

Why did you relock? And what else did you do - as much information as possible will help.

My advice would be to ask in the device's All Things Root forum: Desire HD - All Things Root - Android Forums. You'll get the best advice there. The simplest solution might be to run an RUU and reflash the phone completely, but it's the people who know the phone will be able to best advise on which RUU to use for your phone and it's current state. I note on HTCdev that the DHD is listed as a device that needs a bootloader upgrade to make it unlockable, in which case the RUU you used to do that should work if you run it again. But I'd personally check with a device expert first just in case there's some other/better solution.

Don't worry, I think this is fixable, and if you've already done a reset you've lost everything you're going to lose already.

Edit: OK, ignore this, I see you've fixed it in the meanwhile.

You install ROMs through the custom recovery. The best advice for ROMs for your device will be in the forum I linked in my post above.

You probably should do some additional research before trying to flash a ROM again. There is a large chance of messing up your device if you don't follow instructions exactly. Read the threads, learn what each "hidden" menu is, and learn how to fix problems if/when they arise. We all started at the beginning, the difference is how much we've read since then.
