Help Really weird touch screen problem

I have bought a second-hand Vonino Sirius QS a few days ago. I have since then found that the touch screen lags in a really weird way when I drag stuff around. It includes dragging notification bars, moving icons or drawing in various apps. The tablet doesn't lag at all, so it's not a performance issue.
I've installed a touch screen tester app to find out if that's really the problem. I realised that when sliding my finger on the screen, instead of a continuous line, it draws a dotted line. It's like the screen recognizes my finger only once every 5 millimeters or so. It's really annoying.
I've been searching all around the web for a solution with no success.

Depending on the make and model, some devices have the ability to re-calibrate the screen, I'd start there first and see if yours does. I've used this feature successfully with an unresponsive touch screen in the past. The other thing might be a factory reset to see what happens. Looking around a lot on the web also, I have found that to be the "when all else fails" solution. Good luck.

Hi guys, thanks for your interest.
Obviously, I tried rebooting the tablet and I've also done a factory reset before coming to ask here.
I'm not sure how to calibrate the touchscreen as I couldn't find it in the settings menu.
I guess I'll look it up.
