Reasons I shouldn't get Maxx? Pull battery?

I am looking at the Maxx and the Nexus.

I am really hung up on not being able to remove the battery if the phone farks up. How do you get around this? Phone freezes up bad, usually you pull battery, what is done in the case of the Maxx?

Are there any other major issues I should be aware of? Otherwise I am pretty excited to get this phone.

I know there is a way to get around it but mine has never froze, neither did my regular Razr, that's why this phone is AWESOME!!! :D

I see. I haven't went there with the Razr yet. I did root my X, but besides for the free tether, I have no need to root because the phone is snappy and great on its own. I have Wifi at work and home, so havent needed it yet. Good luck with whatever you do!

Hold the power and volume down, and it forces a reboot. Same as a battery pull. It has been proven to work by another member. I have not been in a bootloop, but it has worked for me once when it locked up. (I have a normal razr, not a maxx, but they are the same except for the battery.

Great - this is what I needed.
I also found it in another thread further down, lol.

Any reasons NOT to get this phone since the reboot doesn't seem to be an issue anymore?

It's an awesome phone and never locked up on me yet, but as mentioned there is a remedy. So many pluses to the Maxx. One huge one is the RF and in-call quality. Great signal. Better than Gnex from what I've heard. Rooting was a breeze also.

Locked Bootloader is an issue for many. For me, not so much. The thing is a beast, the radios seem to be some of the best on the market right now, and battery life is absolutely stellar with the maxx. YMMV.

I had that concern just prior to getting the Galaxy Tab last year. It turned out to be a non-issue, as pointed out about the button combination that forces reboot which is pretty close to a battery pull.

Why does a locked bootloader matter? I ask because I plan to root this phone, but I do not know why a locked bootloader would be a bad thing. Would this keep you from putting Ice Cream Sandwich on it?

No, not at all. I plan on flashing it later today ;)

Locked bootloader means the devs job is harder. They have to work within certain constraints. There actually are a number of roms out these days, though....

The ICS all works except the camera.

I have had this phone for about a month or two. I have never had it freeze. I have tried the battery pull simulation with Vol - & Pwr. Worked great. There really is no reason to not get this phone. Unless you are waiting for the rumored RAZR HD.
