Root reboot to recovery issues

I don't think I'm the only one who has had this issue; but I've gone through Odin to flash Clockwork Recovery to my SF. Now I simply want to use JT1134 in ROM Manager, but I keep getting sent back to the stock recovery menu with the infamous "installation aborted" error message. I've tried hitting the "flash clockworkMod recovery" inside ROM manager but I'm still unable to get to another recovery screen other than stock. I thought that up until now that I was following standard procedure for moving forward to installing a new ROM but I don't know what's blocking me from using recovery...

Reboot into recovery ask "ok or cancel". Hit ok, then it takes me to stock recovery. I'm just trying to install jt's clean 1134 from ROM manager. It should be fairly straight forward if I could get recovery to function properly right?

What happens when you select apply update.zip and click home

By stock you mean blue correct?

i think someone last week had this issue with rom manager and was then able to just download the rom from xda or manually navigate to the clockworkmod folder (i forget which) and was able to flash the rom right from cwr instead of doing it automatically through rom manager.

but yeah make sure you can manually boot into cwr first (battery pull, 3 button recovery, apply update.zip) if you can do that...its probably just something messed up with either rom manager or the rm manifest.

also jts rom is huge (150mb) did it go right away to install or did you turn on wifi and let it download for several minutes? if it tried to flash right away and didnt take awhile to download then its definetly not cwr and just a rm issue

NOS - when reboot to recovery I do get the stock blue boot menu. When I hit apply sdcard:update zip, it just tries to run the install and fails. E:signature verification failed, installation aborted

You need to re-push through ODIN. It sounds like cw didn't make it over properly.

Yes either you never pushed cwr in Odin or it didn't install properly...or you renamed/moved/deleted the update.zip file from the root of your sdcard

I pushed through odin again, and it said success. I tried to flash clockworkmod recovery again and it doesn't do anything. Isn't that supposed to bring up another screen where I select which phone I'm using (Fascinate)? I have even upgraded ROM manager to premium just in case that was holding me back somehow. I'm officially stumped.

Now, reboot into recovery, select update.zip option. This takes you into cw recovery.

Nitsu - I selected "install ROM from SD card" and checked under update.zip and it just shows "update.zip" in the install queue. Am I missing something? I'm not supposed to hit "ok" or "add zip" unless I'm trying to queue up a newly downloaded ROM correct?

Premium Tom manager is not necessary. Select flash clockwork recovery elect fascinate..(do it twice)....then select reboot into recovery and it should automatically apply the update l.zip and send you to green cwr....if it doesn't try to manually apply the zip

rebooting into recovery is still giving me same old blue recovery screen. Apply ascard option fails again...uuuggghhh

When flashing clockwork in odin are you putting your phone in download mode first? (Battle pull, hold volume down, insert USB cord)

nitsu - when you say manually apply the zip, are you talking about using the "install ROM from sd card" method to install update.zip?

Not trying to step on toes here with the responses.... But, it really sounds like ODIN didn't take with the CWMrecovery.tar

yes, it is definitely in downlo;)ad mode with the yellow triangle...with battery pulled
A
ARe you sure you are pushing cwrrecovery.tar. or are you pushing recovery.tar....many people have mistaken the two

Make sure you aren't pushing stock recovery by mistake

I double checked, and I am using CWMrecovery.tar.

my suggestion at this point (or thought rather) is that you may have a borked cwr file.

navigate back over to xda and redownload cwr....id also uninstall and then reinstall the usb drivers on your computer as well...in the event they all didnt install properly

then once the drivers are reinstalled and you have the new file...try it again :)

Got him fixed up via pm and email. It was a success. Manually fixed update.zip.

Thanks everyone! I look forward to the day when I might be able to give back and help others the way I've been helped

now that you are up and running, hopefully we ll see you more often around here...always nice to add to our growing community :)

Funny how a little bit of experience teaches you how these things work...I love messing with this thing now. I'm running JT's clean DJ05 0.9 with stupidfast 12.17.10 and so far everything work great! GPS is definitely fixed, and I'm having a blast with themes :)

Yeah. Really stinks that StupidFast is on hold for a while. Today's latest build is stable so far.
