Help rebooting in gallery/library!

I have noticed that my phone reboots when viewing photos in the gallery app, either through the app or when I try to get to it through wallpapers. I've had the phone for 5 days and have had at least 10 reboots. Just tonight I realized there is a problem with the gallery, not sure if all the others were related to this. I do know that I had two immediately after installing motocast.... Anyone else have this issue? I'm thinking I should take the phone in and exchange it.
 
Yeah, I have that problem too. I'm using Quickpic and it does the same thing when I'm looking through my pictures. It doesn't do it immediately but after scrolling through about half my pictures it will reboot. Highly annoying but I really don't want to exchange it for another as I think it will do the same thing.
 
Do you guys have any pr0n images that might be attempting a buffer overflow exploit? Try clearing out any imagery of dubious origins and see if the issue is resolved.
 
Lol no sir. Same pictures I had on my bionic, no issues there. Interestingly it has not happened the entire time I've had the phone. I've only noticed in the past week or so. Maybe some program is conflicting with it.
 
Have you folks by chance rooted your phones? Certain apps are linked and will cause this to happen when using the gallery- if those apps/tasks are frozen.

No, I haven't rooted yet so no apps have been frozen. I'm going to exchange the phone today :( I'll still get a razr and just hope for the best!
 
That is weird. I get reboots if using 4g and HDMI at same time, but does not happen all the time.

Are the images on the card or internal? If the card, your could see if a demo unit does it too. Could be a corrupt card or something in the internal.

Ok, I did just put my old sd card right into the razr without reformatting it. Was that a mistake? If so, I did copy the contents, should I try reformatting the card and then load contents back on?
 
For what its worth, I went in, they did a factory reset, same problem. Exchanged the phone, SAME PROBLEM! Grrrrr, very annoying.

Not exactly sure how to check disk, but I looked under properties and it said it was working properly, gave me what is used in space, how much is left, etc. So I thought maybe it could be all the crap on my card so I used a new sd card, the one that came with the phone, loaded only pics, wallpapers, videos, music and still the same problem. Sucks, cuz I think I'm going to have to return it completely. I'm not sure the samsung nexus is right for me, but maybe I will have to give that a try when it comes out. Unless, they fix the issue a coroporate store and I'm sure that won't happen.
 
Fixed the problem! I had to reformat the card and then add things on one by one... tedious but effective. It was the video file, I removed and now all is fine. Oh except for that red circle with an X! But that is an entirely different issue :rolleyes:
 
Glad you found the culprit. If the vid isn't something personal (or pr0n) you should post it on the Moto forums so they can fix the issue handling it.
