Reccommend auto launcher app

Hi,

I have just managed to make my old nexus 7 run without a battery and direct from the charger. Now I'm looking to change it to a permanent dock clock. This is the best so far:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gadgetjuice.dockclockplus

However this app has not been updated since 2013, and the pro version does not even work on the Nexus 7. Weirdly the free version works well though less customizable.

Does anyone know good dock clock apps. The clock has to be big. I will be putting this permanently in landscape mode. If possible something that looks like this casio clock.

Or maybe something like the HTC Sense clock.

I don't mind screen burn (if there is any) since this is a 4 year old tablet. Dock Clock does move the time so that the screen does not have burn in.

I noticed that there are little full screen dock clock apps and more clock widgets in the market. So I am open to any clock as long as the clocks are big. Any ideas?

Thanks

I haven't checked out your links tbh but what you wana search Play for is 'daydream" daydream is set up in display and lights setting

Can be told to activate straight away or just when the tab is plugged in.
I recommend Beautiful Widgets (really is beautiful) but there are hundreds of clocks etc on Play so search for "daydream"
What version is your n7 on? I think daydream started with 4.3 but I'm not sure :thumbsupdroid:

Unfortunately daydream won't let me take a screenshot but Beautiful Widgets is lovely, its a clock, date, clouds blowing past (because it's cloudy here) date, temp etc wish it would let me take a screenshot coz you'd maybe love it but there are much more simple daydream clocks if that's what you need :thumbsupdroid:

After further usage of the apps suggested, I have stuck back to the dock clock app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gadgetjuice.dockclock

Reason as it is the biggest clock display and it rotates slightly so that the screen does not burn.

My next question is, does anyone know an app that will autostart the dock clock app? I am using a new google account for the tablet, so I'm not going to purchase tasker again. I just need the app to launch the dock clock app once the tablet is on. The tablet is only running via direct power, so there is no battery.

If you've paid for it, then it should be permanently accessible from the Play store as long as you signed in to Google with the same account you've made purchases with. You can download it as many times as you want without further charge

Thanks. I'm gonna check that out tonight (or whenever I end up going to bed).
I've been experimenting with some nice ambient noise/nature sounds apps instead of my usual science podcasts (which i get tuned into too much to sleep) and they seem to work.
Thundery rain and a campfire seem to work best :)

Check out "LaunchAfterBoot"

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.androgone.launchafterboot

^ I have no idea if that works anymore.

You might also want to search the Play Store for kiosk and see if any of those work.

Or, a different automation besides Tasker - E-Robot, Automate, MacroDroid...

Thanks. Will have a look at the apps. I used to use lightningbug all the time. However the clock does not cycle IINM.

I have made a new account for the tablet so there are no paid apps on it. I am not going to place any apps also, since it is meant to be a permanent clock
