So my wife's note seems to have gone wonky on us..still a year left in the contract, but apparently out of warranty.
Here is the issue
The phone can receive SMS
the phone can use internet off the cellular 3G service
the phone cannot seem to make or receive calls. It tries to dial, but it never connects, but no message saying it failed
She took it to the service center today. they first wiped her phone and upgraded android to 4.1.2 (apparently the latest stock version they have)
that failed so they sent her to the providers service center for a new Sim card
paid $10 for that and it didn't work.
So they told her they'd have to replace the entire main board for $225
We'll probably end up going to a third party repair shop where we can get the board cheaper, but before that, is there anything I can do to try and see if I can make this work. It seems they're utterly clueless and have no idea what the real problem is and are just throwing stuff at it and hope something fixes it.
