Help Recent connectivity issues with Maxx

This has just begun two days ago. I have never ever had a connection problem with any of my Moto phones. My son and I both have a Maxx. Both stock phones on ICS. Tuesday his went into no service mode and had a popup that said no CDMA/LTE networks available and wanted him to switch to global. Yesterday I had the same no service issue and the same popup. This morning he had it again and I just now got service back on mine. We are not in the hurricane/n'oreaster area. We are in central Texas. These are the only two 4G phones in the house and both are experiencing the same problem during the same time frame. You cannot switch to 3G either because it tells you that is not available either. So no 4G, no 3G and no 1X. Nada. Dead. Bad part is when you notice it you have no idea how long its been without service and how many calls you have missed. Nothing ever appears in the call log when the service bites the dust. Today at work I had a good 3G signal all day and upon returning home went to no service again.

As it is both phones, during the same time period, should I be blaming Verizon's network? Or could both phones have gone psycho on the same day with the same psychosis? I cannot find any way online to check outages on Verizon. Any ideas?
 
Oh one more thing! I do not have any task killers installed. I have no smart actions that stop cellular data when the screen is off either. Trying to cover all the bases here.
 
Well they told me they don't know of any outages. Which is pretty much what I expected to hear lol. But neither of us have had any drops today. So we will just watch it over the weekend and keep calling them back if it happens again with exact times.
