Help Recent screen repair, but now it's worse!

Hello Android Forums users,

I recently had the screen replaced for my Optimus F7 phone from Boost Mobile. It was shattered where I couldn't even touch the screen.

The fix was done on Friday, May 9, 2014. It looks great, texts and I can use the web and everything. The only problem is, when I tried making phone calls out for Mother's Day, the screen goes black but I can still hear the phone call being made.

I didn't know about this problem till a couple of days later because I'm more of a text messenger than someone who makes calls. I'll only call if necessary (like if my relatives want to talk by phone with me and don't know about texting)

So I'm taking it back to my cellphone store tomorrow to let them know, but I wanted to know, does anyone know what could possibly be the issue? :/

Thanks

once the call ends, are you able to see the screen again? it could probably be the fact that something is covering the proximity sensor during repair. if that's what it is, just ask them to remove the obstruction.

a question though: how much did it cost? mine is totally shattered. (I was thinking about sending it in to LG because I pulled it out of my pocket on the bus, and it was like that.) I hope it doesn't cost more than the phone itself...

I couldn't access the screen at all during the call so I couldn't even end calls. So I'd just pull out the battery. And you were right. He actually cleaned the proximity sensor (because the same day I had gotten it repaired, by the way, I wanted a privacy screen placed over the screen)

And the repair (for me, replacement screen plus labor) was $75. There was another place I knew for $60 but it was much too far from where I lived.

That was how my phone looked when it was shattered.

mine looks the same as that actually. the difference is, the cracks aren't as densely packed together, and there's no really big crack. it kind of looks like spiderman just sprayed webs on it :D
