For the past couple of weeks the sms errors keep coming back and my phone doesn't ring but I get voicemail notifications. No missed calls for it either. Also can't dial out sometimes and get signal fade or call lost error as well as network is busy please try again later. Has there been outages in North Los Angeles County the past few weeks? It's getting frustrating. What's worse is that it comes and goes. Some days it's fine and some days it's terrible. My neighbor has boost and he has been having similar issues. I know both Virgin and Boost use Sprint towers. My phone (Evo V 4G) got the over the air update back in January.

Just to update that the problem still persists. I finally called customer service since no real replies here to possible problem and was told my area is having upgrades done that will be completed by March 15. It better work better than before or I will be pissed. Phone has been useless for weeks now.

I've been having problems with texting ever since I activated my phone. I got a new one about 3 weeks ago and it'll do fine for awhile then it'll start sending an error message saying something like "Radio Interface Shortage". And then I'll have to go in and reset and reactivate my phone. I've tried calling Virgin Mobile like 5 times and every time I get connected after waiting at least 15 minutes, I get someone I can't understand that won't shut up for 5 seconds and listen to what my problem is. And it always ends in me getting transferred to technical support, waiting another 5-10 minutes, just to be disconnected.

Have you all taken the most recent OTA from a couple of days ago? If not, try that (if you're S-ON and don't want to S-OFF).

I did install the latest update Wednesday and it still is crappy. If I drive a couple of miles down the road, it works fine because it's probably connecting to a different tower. At home it's just error message most of the time and every once in awhile I get an incoming call or can make a call out.

Strange because the previous update suppresses the radio interface shortage error, even if you have no service that error message shouldn't pop up anymore. What's your phones radio, baseband, pri and prl information? It's listed under about phone, software information, more. That might help track down your problems.

I did the previous update and although the radio interface shortage error didn't appear as often as before the update it still would pop up once in a while. Here is a screen cap of info you requested. I get no bars to 1 bar for reception. It just jumps around and sometimes shows 3 bars.

That's extremely odd, everything thing that you have is completely up to date, my only suggestions would be to try a different prl, which would require you to unlock the bootloader or probably a more useful suggestion would be to try a different radio which requires you to be s-offed. Keep us informed on how you make out or if you need any help if you do decide to try modding your phone.

I was able to dial out this morning and also no radio interface shortage errors this morning sending and receiving several texts. Could it be that there is just less tower traffic on a Saturday morning? Maybe the tower upgrades are done? Is there a website to check tower locations and status of towers whether outage or being upgraded etc?
