Rechargeable battery help

So, I need some rechargeable AA's. My camera is a energy hog and I always like to have 2 sets of batteries for my paintball loader.

My problem, what is the "best" type of rechargeable battery? Lithium Ion, NiMH, NiCd? I've seen arguments all ways.

Basically, I want something that doesn't have a memory and has a decent amount of recharges.

Li-Ion is your natural choice .. No memory and industry says 300+ normal full recharges ... guides say charging often is not an issue.

Ni-CD definately have memory issues....
