CoPilot makes you download the maps but in all honesty it wasn't as good as the online gps because you couldn't search for businesses/restaurants so i decided to just go the Telenav route and perfectly happy. I guess you can try out CoPilot for yourself and see how that works for you.
Yes CoPilot is an option for you. Terrible lag when you're trying to set destinations and scrolling on the map. But the menu buttons and icons are extremely finger friendly. Also sports a non-intuitive menu (imo).
try Ndrive, pretty good and not too slow either.just you need to buy maps
you can read yourself, im using from day to day and im pretty happy NDrive | NDrive for Phones - Android
or sygic mobile maps for android also not too bad just a bit slow.
so both are offline but they cost money.you can try any of these or wait for tomtom to come out for android which according to some forums should be soon.
I just installed sygic Mobile Maps. So far, so good...it's not in the Android Market, and it was a pain to install. Basically, have an internet connection and do a manual install to the internal memory (not the SD card).
I don't know if it's the software or gps hardware, but sygic has ZERO issues getting a signal...even in unlikely places (indoors).
