Recommendations on an Android Tablet?

hi...i hope this is the right forum for this!
i am planning to get myself an android tablet sometime between now and xmas. i have the htc desire and like the android operating system from what i have seen. i have a few questions and am wondering if anyone can direct me.

the desire is ok but limited by its memory, are tablets the same in that they will only allow the use of the internal ram to store apps or are they more flexible than my desire appears. the tabs i am looking at will have a min of 256mb ram.

can anyone direct me to any reliable tablets...i have been looking at the storage options ones. i think i like the 8 inch version with the capacitance screen they do. i dont want a 10 inch one as too big for me and i think the 7 inch may be a tad small but i could be convinced otherwise as i will probably get a case/keyboard to use with it anyway.

i have seen a number of tablets on ebay which seem to have a very high spec compared to the likes of the storage options ones. 512mb ram, gps, cameras front and back samsung dual core processor etc, they appear ot come out of china and be 'unbranded' or of makes that i have never heard of. are these going to be reliable ones to go for? if not and the advice is to stick with branded stuff what could people recommend.

i am after using it for showing photos, google maps/earth [gps would be handy but not essential], email, some games but not high spec, internet browsing, watching hd films on and being able to watch them on a hdtv as a media player, some music, cameras [for pics and skype so dont have to be high end], flash compatible. i am hoping to get one in the

cheers, the main reason i am asking is that many of the makes of tablets, like the MiScroll/Storage options etc i have never heard of and for all i know might come from china in the first place?

dont want to scrimp, that said i cannot afford and ipad or transformer etc so for my needs i think one in the region of

Another question regarding Android tablets...I have the htc desire and it is ok but the number of programs you can run is limited by the phone memory [i take it like ram?], are the tablets the same? will they only allow a certain number of applications to run on them until the ram is full or with tablets can you just install everything to the hard drive??

the storage options 7inch scroll looks quite good but it only has 256 ram and i am wondering how that might affect things...

the viewpad 7inch is another in the running but it doesnt support flash....what does this mean for me if anyone can explain. i think if i am correct i can install a browser that will rung flash video etc so thats no loss, youtube, i can use the youtube app...what am i missing?? what else uses flash to run? i enjoy some games but am not too bothered about them although the daughter might like to play some....i take it playing movies etc will not be a problem?

another would be the hanspree hannspad, but dont know too much about this one yet...

Droids are not limited by the amount of ram in terms of apps installed. The desire has only very small onboard memory, and if you upgrade it to a new version of android like 2.2, you can move apps to the sd card so you can install more. For example my galaxy sl has about 4gb onboard storage which i can fill with apps if i want to. Other models have more, like 16 or 32gb.

Also, I would personally advice you to stick to more well known brands like samsung, htc, motorola, acer, asus, lg, etc. Other android tablets you see on ebay going for cheap sometimes have no access to android market.

I would recommend an Acer A100. It's a slightly smaller/cheaper version of the A500. I have the A500 and it's a solid device. One of the best Android experiences I've had to date.
