Hi All, Did any of you tried to record and playback all the user actions on Android?

When i used MonkeyRunner which by default comes with Android SDK, it records the actions only with co-ordinates.

I am trying to understand how tools like Ranorex or Squish works? They identify all the UI elements with their ID's and other properties of object repositories. Does any one have idea on how they are obtaining that?

I also tried to pull all the events of /dev/eventX folder which is hex vaules and i could convert them to decimals but how can i get the readable format of them or the object properties.

There are couple of other tools like Testdroid and Seetest which does the same too.

Any hint will be highly appreciated.
