We're not psychic! :o You haven't told us which apps you're talking about.
can you tell me what's a substitute for it
Not until we know what 'it' is. :)

Please tell us which apps you've tried and what happens when you try to use them.

Also, what exactly is it that you want to record? Tell us if you're looking for apps to record live music, or class lectures, etc., and if they need to have both audio and video. And, as @ocnbrze asked, which phone do you have?

would help to know more.....like what apps you have tried? what phone you have? why do they not work?

just remember the more you tell us, the better we can help.

Hi it's a Samsung A30 and the apps are callx recorder arc ,call app and other recording apps I'm not hearing this other party only myself.

Is it a possibility to use a VoIP app that has call recorfing capability?

Perhaps using an app like Dingtone or one like it that offers call recording can be of some use.

Im using the call app and its recording but only my voice not the other person voice .

You need to give more information.

You start out by saying you have tried 'recording apps', and now you say you are trying 'calling apps'.

These are two different kinds of apps entirely (they do different things), and you still haven't mentioned the names of any of them that you have tried.

I am not trying to be difficult, but we need more info to be helpful.

And some devices are just not capable of doing what you want.

That doesn't mean that it isn't possible, just that you may have to go about it in a different way.

Maybe it is possible to use the headphone jack as a way to connect to a different recording device.

At this point, you should check to see about the legality of recording phone conversations, as the laws vary from place to place.

@puppykickr has already said everything I would have. I just want to underscore the legality issue:

Sounds like it's illegal to record the other party!

You're using "the call app"--though I have no idea which app that actually is--and maybe its features work differently based on your location.

Here in California, it's illegal to record another party without their permission. Maybe your app simply prevents two-way recording altogether, to avoid legal issues.

When you tell us exactly which apps you've tried, and what you're trying to do, maybe then we can help.

Good day ,yes I did mention the apps which are callx, recording arc,and the callapp contacts app records also.whrn I replay the recording I only hearing myself not the other person in the call.

Again, my guess is that it's illegal to record the other party.

Go to the Play Store pages for the apps you're using and see what they say about that in their descriptions.

If you give us links to those apps, we can check them out, too.
