Help recovering photos from centura

Does the centura even have an sd card? I couldnt find one on mine. Ive read elsewhere on this forum that after a factory reset, photos on the phones hard drive couldnt be restored, but ones on an sd could be.

and if they do have sd cards, can anyone recomend a program or method for recovering photos after a factory reset on a centura?
thanks

For "recovering" photos on the SD card (the Centura comes with a 4GB card - you can replace it with a larger one) you don't do anything, they're just still there.

If you think there are photos that should bve on the SD card that aren't, get a card reader, so you can plug the card directly into the computer. Then run PhotoRec - CGSecurity If there's anything that appears to be a file (there's a long list of file types the program recognizes - it's on the site), PhotoRec will recover it, or as much of it as hasn't been overwritten by another file. (IOW, you may recover only the top 2/3 of a picture.)

As far as the ones that were stored in internal storage (there's no hard drive in a phone) ... the problem is that if you install a recovery program, you could overwrite the very photos you're trying to recover - making them forever non-recoverable. And PhotoRec won't recover files on storage it doesn't have raw access to (like a phone plugged into the computer).

This is one reason that any file you don't have backed up to at least two different devices (a cloud account counts as a device) is a file you don't need. If you don't want to lose it, back it up.

should I have mentioned its a tracphone? is there a difference between them and other centuras? I just opened it again to look for the sd card. I cant find it.

this guy found a mini sd card on the centura and I will try to find a reader for it but is the below windows explorer path showing the si card or the internal storage?

Samsung Galaxy Centura Review & Sim Card Removal - YouTube

thanks for the reply. when I expand the plus sign next to SCH-S738C (the centura) on windows explorer, it lists "USB STORAGE" , and under it "alarms, android, dcim, ...movies...pictures...". the pictures I need are neither under dcim> camera, nor pictures, nor movies.

Is the above "USB STORAGE" in fact the sd card and not internal storage?

I have a card reader but i cant find the sd card (Ive tried to find yt videos for it etc

Not all of them come with an SD card. Usually the prepaid variants don't. Tracfone and Straight Talk don't come with an SD card.
And if you did have one, you would have had to went into the camera settings and have it save to the card. By default it will save to the phone's memory.
