Root Recovery from phone with broken screen

AcidicP

My phone is rooted and in pieces right now. I can connect a battery and power it up but I won't get any picture because my LCD is busted. Is there a way to create a recovery on the SD card that I can flash on my new phone without having a screen? Maybe some way to use my computer with the USB attached?

The Reason for this is I had not made a recent recovery when my phone broke, and I would love to be able to flash my replacement to match the phone I used to have.

That's a tough one. You'd first have to know the exact version of recovery you have installed and the exact key combinations/wait times to get it to boot into recovery. Then you'd have to ask someone with the exact same version what the key sequence was to create a nandroid backup. Then, since the default location would be /sdcard/clockworkmod/ and that would be your internal memory partition, you'd have to find a way to copy it to the physical sd card.

If you had USB debugging enabled on your phone before the screen broke you can copy your personal files from the internal storage using adb pull commands (see syntax here).

I'm thinking of opening my two TB's up and disconnecting the screens to connect them to the old broken one. That way I can save a recovery on the SD. Then I'll put the screens back on the new phone and boot up the recovery. This method should work just fine, but I would rather avoid messing with the hardware if possible.

Yea I tried that and when pulling the Touch Screen from the LCD I ended up breaking the LCD in the process. Ordered a new LCD and is was dead on arrival so I said screw it and got insurance to send me a new phone.
