I have an ongoing problem with my phone and this white screen with htc logo i am constantly getting(explained in previous thread)....Anyway my question is what does the recovery option do? I wanted to try it but not knowing what it does thought i should find out what it does..I have already had the phone replaced when the sprint tech could not fix it and had it troubleshooted through tech support...My phone is naked now and i did a hard reset,sprint did a factory reset and as soon as the phone booted back up i got the screen right away.......So anyone know waht recovery will do if anything.

The stock recovery has little use to the end user. A alternate recovery like Amon
RA is used mainly to flash new rom/kernal/mods, do a complete back up and clear caches. If you choose to root your phone (recommended) you will need to install a alternate recovery and if you flash alternative roms, you'll become very familiar with it. For a stock install, it's likely you'll never need to look at recovery at all.
