Root Recovery?

Im currently on bobz rom don't know of it makes a difference but I have 2nd recovery 6.0.2.7 installed along with shabbys recovery. I powered on my phone and pressed the volume up during boot and it booted into recovery 6.0.2.7..Hmmm?

use volume down + power for shabby's recovery. i suggest using candoopa's twrp or cwm but it installs a kernel that redirects /data to sdext so you need to remove the kernel from the zip if you don't want to use the sd trick he devised. or flash shabby's kernel afterwards and overwrite it.

Is it supposed to go into recovery 6.0.2.7 though by pressing power letting go and then volume up? I didn't know that worked.. I knew how to get into shabbys. So for candoopas I can still get his recovery if I don't want the kernel. What are the differences?

twrp is a touch recovery and all the colors are right etc.. it still wipes data but it looks and feels better. and it has a filemanager built in. and yes 2ndinit is supposed to do that.

Ok so you're on bobz too and you suggest twrp good to know.. What about the recovery combo I mentioned were you aware of that? I haven't seen anyone say anything about yet.

yea i use volume down though but same thing. i do it all the time. save's the step of booting then rebooting to recovery.
